Alternate
Use the Alternate tool in ScriptCompiler to convert flat lines into alternating high and low stroke patterns for your funscripts.
Overview
The Alternate tool transforms selected points into an alternating high/low zigzag pattern. This is especially useful for converting marker points (typically placed at 50%) into rhythmic up-down movements.
How It Works
The tool processes your selected points and:
- Takes each point in order from left to right
- Assigns alternating high or low positions based on your settings
- Optionally adds random variation for a more natural feel
- Preserves the original timing of each point
Parameters
| Parameter | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| High Position | 0 to 100 | 100 | The position value for "high" points |
| Low Position | 0 to 100 | 0 | The position value for "low" points |
| Start With | High / Low | High | Whether the first point should be high or low |
| Randomize | On / Off | Off | Add random variation to positions |
| High Random Range | 0 to 50 | 10 | Random variation range for high positions (shown when Randomize is on) |
| Low Random Range | 0 to 50 | 10 | Random variation range for low positions (shown when Randomize is on) |
When to Use
Converting Marker Points
When you add points using the A key or by tapping the timeline, they are placed at 50% position. Use Alternate to convert these flat markers into actual stroke movements.
Creating Quick Rhythmic Patterns
Drop a series of points at regular intervals, then apply Alternate to instantly create a rhythmic up-down pattern without manually adjusting each point.
Adding Variation to Flat Sections
If you have a section of your script that feels monotonous or flat, select the points and use Alternate with randomization to add some variation.
Tips
Adjust High and Low Positions
You do not always need full 0-100 strokes. Setting high to 80 and low to 20 creates a less intense pattern that might be more appropriate for certain scenes.
Combine with Other Tools
After applying Alternate, you can use Smoothing to add transitions between the peaks, or use Fill Between to add intermediate points for smoother movement.
Preview Before Applying
The tool shows a live preview of the alternating pattern. Make sure to review it before applying to ensure the rhythm matches what you want.
