Our Story

How ScriptCompiler came to be, who builds it, and what it stands for.

ScriptCompiler is a tool made by someone who wanted it to exist. This page is the short version of where it came from and what it is built to be.

How it started

ScriptCompiler began in early 2025 as one person's attempt to build a better way to make funscripts. Not as a company, not as a committee, just long stretches of building, testing, breaking, and rebuilding until the thing actually felt good to use.

A lot of that early work happened quietly, night after night, because that is what it takes to turn a rough idea into something people can rely on. The goal was simple from the start: give scripters a fast, capable, modern editor and keep improving it.

What it became

What started as a single editor grew into a full suite. The editor itself matured into a professional tool with multi-axis support, an AI assistant, a deep library of pattern and timing tools, device support, and a bridge for live control. Around it grew everything a modern scripting workflow needs.

Every release has been shipped in the open, with updates shared as they happened. You can follow that history any time on the What's New page.

What we stand for

A tool reflects the values of the people who build it. These are ours.

We respect creators

Scripting is craft. The people who make scripts own their work, and we build tools that put them in control of it.

We moderate openly

Where users can share or sell, content is reviewed and removed on report. When a concern is raised, we act on it quickly and in good faith.

We protect privacy

What you make and how you use ScriptCompiler is yours. We hold user data carefully and we do not put it on display to settle anything.

We keep building

ScriptCompiler is independently built and self-funded. That independence is what lets us answer to the people who actually use it.

Common questions

What is funscripted, and how does it relate to ScriptCompiler?

ScriptCompiler is the editor, the tool you use to create and refine scripts. funscripted is a separate community platform where people share and sell their work, which ScriptCompiler integrates with for convenience. They are run separately.

Who handles content shared on funscripted?

Content uploaded to funscripted is managed by funscripted, including reports, takedowns, and copyright concerns. If you have a question about something hosted there, funscripted is the right place to raise it, and those reports are acted on.

What does ScriptCompiler stand for on creator rights?

We know there has been disagreement in the community about content shared on connected platforms. Our position has been consistent: we respect the people who make scripts, we act on valid reports promptly, and when a concern has been raised we have removed content and, where needed, paused things entirely to review them properly. We would always rather err in a creator’s favor than leave a question open.

Where we're going

ScriptCompiler is still being built every week, by the same hands that started it. The plan has not changed: keep making the best scripting tools we can, keep listening to the people who use them, and keep earning the trust that comes with that.
